Cookie Policy

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember information between requests. In the UK they are governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, which require your consent for any cookie that isn't strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for.
The short version
This marketing site, fieldify.net, sets no cookies at all. There is no advertising and no third-party tracking on it, which is why you have not been asked to accept anything. The Fieldify app at app.fieldify.net sets a small number of strictly necessary cookies, listed below, purely to keep you signed in and the service secure.
We do count visits, using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It stores nothing on your device and gives us totals only: how many pages were opened, which ones, which country the request came from, and whether the browser was on a phone or a computer. There is no cookie, no identifier, no profile and no way for us to pick out one person or follow anyone between visits or between sites. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, it falls outside the consent rules in PECR, which is why there is no banner asking you to agree to it.
Because every cookie we set is strictly necessary, none of them require consent under PECR. That also means they cannot be switched off while you use the app, since it cannot function without them.
Cookies the app sets
| Cookie | Purpose | Set by |
|---|---|---|
better-auth.session_token | Identifies your signed-in session, so you stay logged in as you move between pages | FFieldify |
better-auth.session_data | Holds a short-lived cached copy of your session so pages load without re-checking every time | FFieldify |
better-auth.dont_remember | Records that you chose not to stay signed in, so your session ends when you close the browser | FFieldify |
CF_AppSession, CF_Authorization | Used by Cloudflare Access to protect our administrative area from unauthorised access | Cloudflare |
All of these are session or short-lived cookies, and all are marked HttpOnly and Secure, which means they are sent only over an encrypted connection and cannot be read by JavaScript running in your browser.
What we don't use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No Google Analytics, and no tracking pixels on this site or in the app.
- No social media tracking cookies.
- No cross-site profiling of any kind.
- Nothing that identifies you, or that follows you between visits or between sites.
If that ever changes, and we add something that stores information on your device or that could identify you, we will update this page and ask for your consent before setting it.
One thing this page does not cover, because it is not a cookie and not on the website: our marketing email does record whether a message was opened and which links were followed. That only applies to people who receive it, unsubscribing stops it, and it is described in our Privacy Policy.
Controlling cookies
Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies through their settings, and you can delete ours at any time. Because the only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in, blocking them will stop the Fieldify app working: you will be logged out and unable to log back in. It will not affect your ability to browse this marketing site, which sets none.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, such as introducing a new category of cookie, we'll update the date at the top and describe them here.
